I am very concerned about the effect that masses of wind turbine developments will have on the population of Red Kites in Mid Wales. Research in Spain and the USA have concluded that birds of prey are particularly vulnerable to the swirling blades when they are concentrating on their prey on the ground. They do not see the blades and are sliced to pieces. The RSPB have taken a disgraceful neutral stance on this and their own research is inconclusive. One has to ask if their cosy arrangments with wind turbine developers has had an influence on their position. More information on this topic can be found at
